Below (and here) is the New York State Supreme Court (Manhattan) complaint filed on July 11, 2013 by Natalie Thorpe against Williams Lea, Inc. The relevant events occurred while plaintiff was placed by defendant at the Manhattan law firm Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft.
The suit claims that Tyrone Turner, defendant’s manager, made offensive sexual advances and comments towards plaintiff, asked her out on dates, and implied that her future at the company depended on her responses to his advances.
Plaintiff also alleges that Turner gave her an “erotic”, “explicitly sexual” poem he wrote about her which was “laminated and decorated with a picture of a man kissing a woman who resembles” plaintiff.
The poem also allegedly says:
- “I reminisce about our passionate love-making”.
- “I love the way you giggle and the way your body jerks when I trace your tattoos with my tongue and rub you down with warm body oil.”
- “I have a sweet tooth for you because you sho nuff got goody-good candy.”
And so on. See paragraph 14.
