Here is the pro se complaint recently filed by Gwen Goodwin against Melissa Mark-Viverito and Eastside Managers’ Associates. Plaintiff lost the primary for the Democratic Party nomination for New York City Council for District 8.
She alleged that defendants were responsible for the placement of this mural, which according to the complaint depicts a “decapitated and wooden-sword-stabbed bird of prey” and in Caribbean culture “constituted a curse and a death threat” analogous to a swastika or a noose.
The complaint contains causes of action for intentional and reckless infliction of emotional distress conspiracy in wrongful acts, larceny, tortious interference with business activity, wrongful use of campaign funds in furtherance of civil wrongs, and wrongful use of government funds in furtherance of civil wrongs.
