Below is the federal complaint, captioned Chang et al. v. Phoenix Satellite Television (US), Inc. et al., 1:14-cv-02686, filed yesterday by three plaintiffs against Phoenix Satellite Television US, Inc., Phoenix Satellite Television Holdings Limited, and Zhengzhu Liu. Gothamist reported on the lawsuit here.
Mr. Liu, it might be recalled, was featured as the alleged harasser in a recent case which prompted the recent amendment to extend the NYC Human Rights Law’s protections to interns.
Among the many factual allegations supporting plaintiffs’ claims of quid pro quo and hostile work environment sexual harassment and retaliation is one plaintiff’s allegation that alleged harasser Liu “brought up the Bill Clinton scandal” by telling plaintiff that “Bill Clinton was impeached because he lied under oath, not because of his sexual affair”, that a “blow job is not sexual intercourse”, and that “having a sexual affair and receiving a blow job were ‘not a big deal.'” This, plaintiff claimed, amounted to Liu “testing [plaintiff]’s willingness to give in to his sexual advances to advance in her career at” defendant.
