In a recent complaint filed in the Southern District of New York, Moore v. Despont Studios LLC et al, 15-cv-00619, plaintiff – an architect and former employee of Despont Studios LLC d/b/a The Office of Thierry W. Despont, Ltd. – asserts claims of gender discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, and retaliation.
From her complaint:
In stark contrast to its progressive designs, The Office of Thierry W. Despont’s employment practices are stuck in generations in the past, where employees such as [plaintiff] are mistreated, discriminated against and “mommy tracked” upon becoming pregnany. After five years of performance including bonuses, raises and promotion, when [plaintiff] expressly complained that she was a victim of such discrimination, the only result of the sham investigation was that she was fired two weeks later.
She asserts claims under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the NYS Human Rights Law, and the NYC Human Rights Law.
