On August 25, 2016, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission issued a document titled “EEOC Enforcement Guidance on Retaliation and Related Issues“.
This document, among other things, outlines the elements of a retaliation cause of action under the statutes administered by the EEOC – including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Americans with Disabilties Act – and provides various examples applying the legal principles articulated.
